This is an exquisitely detailed set based on "Alice Through the Looking Glass"
by Lewis Carroll which is the second book after "Alice's Adventures in
Wonderland" and has Chess as a driving focus throughout the storyline. The
depiction of the pieces are closely based on the superb illustrations by John
Tenniel's as seen in the first edition.
It is an adversarial set meaning there are two distinct sides with different
characters. In this case it is Alice versus the Red Queen.

The set is Made to order and takes around 4 weeks from casting to completion.
it can be a wee bit swifter depending on timing and workload. Creation times
can get longer in the busy season especially mid September on if you have a
time crunch or a specific date just message and i can give you solid
confirmation.
This listing includes All 32 pieces to make a full set of chessmen. Boards are
not included,
I can do these a variety of finishes. With the technique of picking out Blue
on pieces for one side and Red on the other you could have the entire set with
one under colour or a different under colour for each side or choose not to
have the blue and red elements at all.
Each piece is Cold-cast by hand using Tufstone a polymer modified gypsum
cement, then painted, glazed and felt bottoms attached.
The set requires a board with at least a 1 1/4 inch squares,
The King is 3 5/8 inches tall the Pawns are 2 1/8 inches

Queen - Red Queen (with peeking Cheshire Cat)
Bishop - Mad Hatter

If you don't see a colour you crave there feel free to ask i might be able to
do it.
I make each piece as strong as possible these are essentially akin to a solid
ceramic handled correctly they will last a lifetime but will break if dropped
on a concrete floor for instance. The set is shipped with each piece
individually bubble wrapped and laid on a bed of larger bubbles and packing
peanuts.
Thank you for looking, feel free to message with any questions. :)
